Bihar teacher intimidates students with a gun

Patna: Authorities have ordered an investigation after a teacher was caught on camera teaching little children while holding a gun in Bihar.

A video of the bizarre incident has gone viral. According to officials in charge of the investigation, the video was shot somewhere in Mithanpura locality of Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district.

In the 1.18-minute video, the man wielding a gun in his hand is heard frequently telling the little children sitting on the ground over plastic sheets to read out loud the English alphabet and also write them down in their notebooks.

The tiny tots promptly comply with the order out of panic as the man himself records the video. The man is seen three to four times in the video.

Gathering details

“The police have taken cognizance of the matter and ordered an investigation. We will take action once the probe is completed,” Muzaffarpur’s deputy superintendent of police Ram Naresh Paswan told the media on Thursday. He added a police team had been entrusted with the task to gather details from the villagers and act against the teacher in question.

However, the police are shocked at the style of his teaching. “The teachers have been normally seen carrying chalks, pen, pencils and books in their hands but this is for the first time anyone has been found teaching students with the power of a barrel of a gun. This is something which amounts to serious punitive action against the man,” said a police official.

A similar incident was reported from Bihar’s Saran district earlier when a schoolteacher was seen reaching his classroom with a gun dangling from his shoulder. However, the reason behind this teacher taking classes with firearms was different.

As such, the teacher had received murder threats from some local goons and that’s why he would come to school with a gun but he never tried to intimidate students with his gun.
