Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has finally decided to seek the assistance from the World Bank to complete the long-delayed uplift of Faizi Rahmeen Art Gallery and Auditorium in the city.
Chairing a recently held meeting, Karachi’s Administrator Laeeq Ahmed said that assistance would be sought under the World Bank-funded CLICK (Competitive & Livable City of Karachi) project to complete the project of the art gallery and auditorium as being the most beautiful public sector building of the city.
The Karachi’s Administrator highlighted the fact that the auditorium of the project would have the seating capacity for 1,800 people as it is going to be the biggest auditorium of the country.
He acknowledged the sorry state of affairs of the project as the work to complete it had been pending for the past 30 years. He emphasised that the project was being developed in such an area of Karachi, which was known for arts and cultural activities in the city.
